Nathan Silverstein, a Polish American student and member of LAH 2024, is starting a UT Polish Club! In all, the UT Polish Club will be a great way to meet fellow Longhorns, eat amazing food, and learn about Poland’s rich culture.
If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out this short Google Form and you will get more details soon. Please note: EVERYONE is welcome, whether you are Polish or not!
Also, since this is a new club, many officer positions will be available, including as high as Vice President!
UT Polish Club [virtual] activities include:
- Guest speakers
- Discussing Polish politics and current events
- Celebrating Polish holidays and traditions
- Polish movie nights
- Polish sporting-event watch parties
- Polish TV show clubs
- Polish book clubs
- Learning about Polish history
- Practicing speaking (or learning) Polish!
Some ideas for when the pandemic is over are:
- Cooking delicious Polish food together (pierogis, cheesecake, and doughnuts, oh my!)
- Attending Polish community events (like Austin’s Bigos Cook-Off, the Austin Polish Film Festival, and visiting Panna Maria (the first Polish settlement in Texas and in the U.S. in general))
