Students in any discipline whose work relates in any way to studies of Britain, its former (or indeed current, if tiny) Empire, and Ireland are eligible to apply for financial assistance. The newly-constituted Program in British, Irish and Empire Studies (BIES) will offer up to $500 for undergraduate and $1,000 for graduate projects, and the funding may be used for any legitimate and pertinent research activity.

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding towards a public service-related graduate or professional degree to students who aspire to work in a public service career. Public service, defined by the foundation, includes employment in government at any level, uniformed services, public-interest organizations, nongovernmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private schools, and public service-oriented nonprofit organizations. Eligible students must be a junior, graduating in 2022-23, OR, a senior, graduating early (3 years or less) in 2021-22.
