Endeavor Fund Scholarship

The Student Government Endeavor Fund Scholarship is aimed to alleviate some of the financial burden of college life and help transfer students maximize their personal growth and University of Texas experience. Any currently enrolled transfer student who has completed at least one but no more than three long semesters at UT Austin and who has demonstrated exemplary leadership experience and has financial need is eligible to apply. Study Abroad Scholarship

The Senate of College Councils Academic Enrichment Committee Study Abroad Scholarship is designed to assist a student studying abroad in an upcoming academic year. This scholarship is open to all undergraduate students, including international students, who are studying abroad in Maymester or Summer 2021 Programs. Exciting Essay Contest

Apply for UT’s annual Free Speech Essay Contest! The contest is open exclusively to UT undergraduates, and all undergraduates are eligible.

Prizes for the top three essays range from $700-$1500.

Deadline for submission is March 12, 2021.

The topics that students may choose between this year concern:

  • The rights of listeners
  • The difference between government restrictions on speech and private restrictions on speech

Study Abroad Scholarships

The Liberal Arts Honors Program will award scholarships in varying amounts to support LAH students and Humanities majors who will be studying abroad in the Spring, Summer, and/or Fall.  An LAH student may apply for this scholarship by writing a one-page statement of his or her study abroad plans. The statement should include where and what the student will be studying, the projected cost involved, and the role that study abroad and the mastery of a foreign language plays in the student’s academic and career goals.

Please submit your application online through the study abroad online scholarship application, Global Assist and select “Get Started”. The website will prompt you to set up an online profile and show you a list of scholarships which criteria you meet. If you are applying for a study abroad program not affiliated with UT, please enter program code 300999.

Both LAH students and Humanities majors are eligible to apply for the LAH Study Abroad scholarship. Please contact the LAH office with any questions.

Headliners Foundation Scholarship

A friendly reminder that the Headliners Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-22 school year. Deadline to apply is March 19.

In addition to the 15 annual Foundation scholarships, the $3,000 Bess Whitehead Scott Scribes Scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional student who is seeking education in fields related to journalism and writing. When reviewing the BWS Scholarship applications, the Headliners Foundation’s Academic Excellence Committee will give strong preference to applicants with 10-15 years of professional work experience in journalism, nonfiction writing or a related field. Click here to learn more.

The Foundation awarded more than $72,000 in scholarships for the 2020-21 school year, with individual awards ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 annually.

Call for Applications !

The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies is now offering a number of travel scholarships to Liberal Arts majors for study abroad in Latin America, both for summer 2021 and for academic year 2021-2022.  For summer 2021, we are offering 16 $2,500 travel scholarships.  Students must attend degree-granting institutions in Latin America this coming summer for a summer session and return with at least six hours of college credit.  For academic year 2021-2022, we will award six $5,000 travel scholarships for semester-long study abroad in Latin America.  Awardees must attend degree-granting institutions in Latin America and return with at least 12 hours of college credit.  These awards are merit-based.

Humanities Scholarship

Fully-Funded Public Service Fellowship for College Juniors

The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Program is accepting applications for the Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Fellowship!

This is a rigorous academic graduate-level preparation program for undergraduate juniors committed to public service careers. The purpose of the JSI Fellowship is to prepare students to obtain a Master’s or joint degree, in public policy, public administration, international affairs, or a related field. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in working to improve historically underserved or underrepresented communities. Applicants for this cycle must graduate with their first bachelor’s degree between December 2021 and August 2022. Deadline: November 15, 2020.
