Visit from Sachin Deshmukh
The lab was happy to welcome our friend, Sachin Deshmukh, for a visit after the SfN meeting in October. Sachin presented a talk entitled, “Objects, space, and memory: how the hippocampal cognitive map comes together”. The website for Sachin’s lab can be found here: http://www.cns.iisc.ernet.in/sachin/
NSF CAREER Award
The lab received an NSF CAREER award to study whether slow and fast gamma rhythms affect memory processing during sleep:
Chenguang and Laura wrote a Preview for Neuron titled, “Beta and Gamma Rhythms Go with the Flow”
Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Bieri!
The Colgin Lab is profiled on Benefunder
Chenguang’s paper accepted to Hippocampus
Chenguang’s paper about how slow and fast gamma frequencies change with running speed has been accepted to Hippocampus.
Received an R01 Grant From NIMH
We are very excited about the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine!
Congratulations to May-Britt Moser, Edvard Moser, and John O’Keefe! Hooray for them and hooray for place cells and grid cells!
