The Linguistics Research Center forms part of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. We develop online resources for linguistics researchers and enthusiasts alike. In particular our Early Indo-European OnLine (EIEOL) project provides series of lessons covering languages from each of the major branches of the Indo-European language family. Each lesson in each series provides an introduction, a grammatically annotated and contextually translated text, and a series of grammar points with explanations. Our Indo-European Lexicon provides a list of Indo-European lexical roots and their various etymological descendants in the numerous languages pertaining to the Indo-European family tree.
The Linguistics Research Center was founded by Dr. Winfred P. Lehmann. Though research performed at the LRC has ranged over a number of branches of linguistics, the LRC’s particular strengths remain in computational and historical linguistics.
This blog contains ideas, events, and news related to the LRC and to the interests of its faculty and associates. We welcome reader feedback in any form.
