Sam is a PhD student in the Melamed lab. He received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California at San Diego, where he worked on high-throughput screening for cancer drugs. After graduating, he worked for two years at the University of Southern California studying Alzheimer’s disease. In the lab, he is currently focused on studying the role of binge alcohol consumption in multiple sclerosis.
