Sydney is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to UT, Sydney received her master’s degree and specialist certificate in School Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is a nationally certified school psychologist and has supported children, families, and teachers across early childhood, elementary, and secondary educational settings. Sydney is highly interested in the various overarching systems that promote (or hinder) student access to evidence-based practices and programs for mental health. In the future, she hopes to facilitate partnerships between research teams, school systems, and community mental health providers, as she believes this is one critical strategy that can assist in bridging the gap and address issues of underrepresentation. In addition to her professional interests, she enjoys spending her time catching up with friends, family, and cooling off at the ice rink as a competitive figure skater.
