Robbie Epstein graduated with a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His undergraduate studies focused on philosophy and a history of math and science. After spending four years studying theoretical things, Robbie wanted to actively help people, so he joined AmeriCorps and served as case manager in an Austin homeless shelter. This experience sparked Robbie’s passion for helping people who struggle with homelessness. After completing his AmeriCorps term he continued to work as a case manager until entering graduate school. He’s a dual degree student pursuing a degree with the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. As a Graduate Research Assistant for the Healthy Communities Collaborative Robbie is able to use his homeless services experience combined with public policy knowledge to help create narrative reports, document site visits, and prepare data for quantitative reports. His areas of interest are aging, mental health and homelessness.
