Lindsay Howard (she/her) is an author and screenwriter from right here in Austin and is currently in her final year as an MFA screenwriting student. For the past five years, she has been living between the pages of two narrative forms — scripts and novels. She has worked at production companies and literary agencies, has certificates in both publishing and television writing, and most recently spent a couple years working at a quirky indie bookstore as a bookseller and assistant to the book buyer.
Knowing those two industries as well as she does, she’s very excited to have the opportunity to encourage young writers to reach for their goals and to keep up the hard work! As someone who is also familiar with workshopping (and how hard it can be to see typos in her own work sometimes), she’s always happy to help out in whatever areas she can, whether that’s editing, brainstorming, rewriting or any other stage in the process.
When she isn’t in class or assisting with the Intro to Screenwriting course here at UT, Lindsay is usually involved in nerdy improv- and storytelling-based activities with her friends. She does also have a secret love of reality television (but don’t tell her professors that).
