I am a Ph.D student in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering studying Building Energy and Environments at The University of Texas at Austin. I received double major degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering at Dokuz Eylul University. I also completed M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. After the Turkish Ministry of National Education rewarded me with a full scholarship to perform my graduate study, my journey started in Austin.
While pursuing my Ph.D. studies, I worked in Austin Energy Green Building Department as Energy Analyst between 2017-2018 for a year. In addition to energy modeling of buildings, I also reviewed the energy simulation processes of buildings, which are submitted by various companies, under construction in Austin.
I am currently working on my research project, as known CityDNN, in order to decrease computational time while maintaining the accuracy of a detailed urban energy model and then propose future planning strategies to lower overall energy demand of buildings.
