The Center for Open Educational Resources in Language Learning (COERLL) has created a free resource called Introduction to OER for Language Teachers. This resource is designed to help language educators learn more about how to create and share their own open educational resources (OER). OER are educational resources that are “offered freely and openly and available under a license that allows users to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute”. The modules in this Canvas course describe practices that COERLL recommends for educators who are developing language OER. Modules include, but are not limited to: Finding OER for Language Courses, Basics of Open Licenses, Copyright and Fair Use, Attributing Content, Remixing and Revising OER, Tools for Authoring Open Materials, and Joining an OER Community.
