Representatives from African Open Science Platform, AmeLICA, cOAlition S, OA2020, and SciELO met on May 1, 2019 during the Global Research Council meeting. The five initiatives came up with a joint statement on open access. This statement builds on previous OA statements and hopefully helps continue recent momentum around open access.
