If you are using open educational resources (OER) in your courses or have considered using them, please join us this fall for our OER community of practice meet-ups. These meet-ups are being organized by staff from UT Libraries, the Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning, and Texas Digital Library. We’ll provide some light snacks and a suggested topic. We’ll have people on hand who have experience with OER and can help answer any questions you may have. We hope it will be an opportunity for you to meet others who are interested in OER and share ideas and solutions. You are welcome to stop in for the whole time or just drop in and out as you are available.
This is our meeting schedule for fall (each meet-up is from 9:00-11:00am):
- Friday, September 13th in SRH 1.115
- Friday, October 18th in FAC 330
- Friday, December 6th in PCL Learning Lab 4
We’re also hosting two OER Workshops. The first is August 20th from 9:00am-1:00pm, and is focused on introducing OER into your courses. You can register for the free course at this link. The second workshop will be November 7th from 9:00am-1:00pm and the topic will be incorporating open pedagogy into your courses. Registration will open in late September.
We’ll have our schedule of topics posted here by late August.
