The university community is invited to participate in a town hall about academic publishing and open access practices at The University of Texas at Austin on Thursday, March 11th at 3:30pm.
The event is co-sponsored by the Provost’s Sustainable Open Scholarship (SOS) Working Group and its Open Access and Licensing & Negotiation subcommittees.
The SOS Working Group is charged with developing a statement of values about open access and guiding principles for negotiating UT’s contracts in support of sustainable open scholarship practices with scholarly publishers.
The Town Hall will include a brief presentation to provide foundational information and a common understanding of open access issues and will be an important opportunity for attendees to provide the critical input the subcommittees need to complete their work.
