A study about diamond open access (OA) journals commissioned by cOAlition S has concluded and published their report. The report found that there are thousands of small diamond OA journals that are largely supported by volunteers, universities, and governments. These journals represent a diverse range of disciplines – 60% HSS, 22% science, and 17% medicine – and are published all over the globe. The report provides a comprehensive look at an open access business model that removes all access barriers.
Diamond OA journals are those that have no costs for the reader or the author.
