It’s been over a year now and we wanted to share a reminder about the UT System deal with Cambridge University Press (CUP). This Read & Publish deal gives the UT community read access to all CUP journals, and also includes unlimited OA publishing for our authors.
What does this mean for you as a UT Austin researcher, faculty, or student? It means if you are a corresponding author on a publication in a CUP journal, you can publish that article open access without needing to pay any fees. Those fees, called article processing charges or APCs, are included in our agreement which is in effect from January 2021 through December 2023. This is an excellent opportunity to make the results of your research and scholarship more widely available.
You may be a bit unsure of how this all works, and CUP has helpfully pulled together a page with details about our agreement, including step by step instructions for how you can publish under this deal. If you publish with CUP, you will also receive an email with instructions on how to publish open access.
