Join the University of Texas Libraries in transforming classrooms across the Forty Acres from using expensive textbooks to using no-cost, free-use course materials through Open Educational Resources (OERs)! You can make a difference now during our 40 Hours for the Forty Acres campaign until April 7 at 10pm.
Textbooks cost each student roughly $800 a year, on top of tuition, housing, groceries and healthcare. For many students, this imposes significant financial and academic burdens. 52% of surveyed Longhorn students reported they skipped buying required course materials due to costs. You can directly address the financial and academic needs of students at The University of Texas at Austin by contributing to UT Libraries’ 40 for Forty campaign.
Every $2,000 we reach provides one classroom at UT Austin the ability to adopt Open Educational Resources, sparing thousands of students the expense of textbooks in those classes for years to come.
Any gift you can offer makes a difference! Learn more and donate by 10pm on April 7th.
