An Analog Club at UT

NEXT MEETING, March 30th, 5:00pm in EER 3.640 ExxonMobil Longhorn Conference Room at EER 3rd floor
Come see how analog fits into the diverse research being done at UT. Whether detecting cancers or delivering power, many of the researchers at UT require specialized analog blocks or equipment to push their field’s state of the art. Come see the research groups that you can impact using an analog skill set.

Why make a club?
Organizing this discipline will lower the barrier to entry for new students, and improve the odds of success for those developing. Analog is seen as an experienced engineer’s game leaving most students to believe that they will not have success up front. While the faculty focusing on analog are sparse at UT, there is an increasing number of researchers that have analog needs. Some researchers use analog blocks in larger systems, and others require test and measurement for applications like acoustics or electromagnetics. With the right encouragement and resources, students will see analog to be just as accessible as any other engineering discipline.
