During the holidays, the Ransom Center will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
On all other days, visitors can view the exhibition Elliott Erwitt: Home Around the World, which presents more than 200 of photographer Elliott Erwitt’s remarkable images. The exhibition, exclusive to the Ransom Center, is on view through January 1, 2017.
Read reviews and coverage of the exhibition in the New Yorker, Guardian, Washington Post, Austin American-Statesman, and the Austin Chronicle. An exhibition catalogue featuring essays and more than 250 images is available for purchase in the Ransom Center’s Museum Store. The First Photograph and the Gutenberg Bible remain on permanent display.
The Ransom Center Galleries are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended Thursday evening hours to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Docent-led exhibition tours occur daily at noon, Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tours meet in the lobby; no reservations are required.
Admission is free, but your donation is welcome and supports the Ransom Center’s exhibitions and public programs. Parking information and a map are available online.
