SALSA XXX, our 30th conference, will take place on Friday January 16 and Saturday January 17, 2026 at the Glickman Conference Center (RLP 1.302) and will feature a themed panel focusing on topics related to Taboo and Transgression. This year’s Joel Sherzer Memorial Keynote will be delivered by our special guest Dr. Luke Fleming, who recently published his new book On Speaking Terms: Avoidance Registers and the Sociolinguistics of Kinship, and who will be presenting on The Cultural Pragmatics of Avoidance and the Efficacy of Taboos.
