Dr. Jayant Sirohi is a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin. Our research group works on investigating the fundamental physics of different types of vertical lift aircraft, such as a rigid, coaxial, counter-rotating rotor and a flexible flapping wing, by means of various experimental and computational tools. With each study, our goal is to expand the capabilities and understand the complex aeroelastic behavior of future vertical take-off aerial vehicles. Our group further works on supersonic and hypersonic fluid-structure interaction problems, with a focus on novel measurement techniques and algorithms.
