Randall Ford, Recreational Sports, served as the public address announcer at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Flag Football Championships held recently in Pensacola, Fla. He also participated in the awards ceremony for the co-rec championship game. By supporting the event as a gold level institutional registrant, RecSports was allowed to send teams, student officials and staff to participate.
Gale Stuart, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, partnered with Leslie Kavanaugh, New Student Services, and Divya Bheda, director of institutional assessment at The University of Texas at Austin, to deliver a two-part assessment workshop for Division staff. More than 40 staff members attended the workshops on Jan. 15 and 22. Stuart, Kavanaugh and Bheda coached staff on how to develop strong assessment plans. View the photos.
Elisa Ramos, Office of the Dean of Students, was selected as one of 50 mid-level managers from across the country to attend the American College Personnel Association (ACPA)Donna M. Bourassa Mid-Level Manager’s Institute. This group explored leadership techniques and identified issues facing higher education.
J. Raymond Schiflett III, Office of the Dean of Students, was honored with at this year’s University Student Legal Services Association – Western Region (USLSA-WR) Annual Conference in San Francisco. The board decided to change the name of The Most Outstanding Students’ Legal Services Office of the Year to the J. Raymond Schiflett, III Annual Award. Schiflett founded the organization in 1994 and served as president for nine years. This honor recognizes his career’s work.
