I learned from my friend Daniel Jacobs, the UT Austin captioning manager, that live auto-transcription or captioning is now available in version 5.5.2 of Zoom. Also, make sure that you have your settings in Zoom set to enable live transcription to show transcript on the side panel in meeting. See a quick demo here.
Please note: Although ASR transcripts are available, they should not be considered an equal/appropriate replacement for live-generated captions as an accommodation for deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) individuals. Please contact Services for Students with Disabilities for more information if accommodations are required (Jacobs, 2021).
