The Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program is a network of academic medical institutions that provide telemedicine-based services to school districts across Texas. Contact Dell Medical School’s TCHATT program at tchatt@austin.utexas.edu.
What is TCHATT?
Dell Medical School’s (DMS) TCHATT program enables school districts to identify and assess students’ behavioral health needs and provide them with access to short-term telehealth appointments at no cost.

TCHATT Initiatives
Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM)
YAM’s five-session program for eighth-12th graders teaches them about suicide prevention, problem-solving and emotional intelligence through lectures, discussion and role-playing.

Focused on the unique challenges faced by 8th-12th graders, our Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program operates within the Dell Medical School catchment area and thirteen counties:

About TCMHCC
The Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children and adolescents.
In 2021, the Texas Legislature approved federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act for expanded services of several of the Consortium’s initiatives.
