Welcome to the Center for Transdisciplinary Collaborative Research in Self-Management Science
Introduction
The Center for Transdisciplinary Collaborative Research in Self-Management Science (TCRSS) strives to reduce the health disparity gap by improving the chronic disease self-management capacities of individuals, families, and communities. TCRSS aims to meet the unmet healthcare needs of disadvantaged populations by promoting the development of knowledge, providing infrastructure dedicated to research, establishing synergy to inspire nurse scientists, and relying on collaboration to formulate cost-effective self-management interventions to improve health outcomes and overall well-being for people with chronic conditions.
Description
The TCRSS Center serves as a catalyst to encourage interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary networking between the School of Nursing and a variety of other disciplines across UT Austin and community agencies to develop innovative and effective approaches to build the science of self-management for chronic conditions. The goal of self-management is to improve health and quality of life when reducing health care utilization for preventable events.
