The United States’ energy system is in a period of increasingly rapid transition, bringing with it exciting opportunities as well as daunting challenges, from incentivizing emerging renewable energy sources like community solar and offshore wind generation to regulating breakthrough technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture pipelines and infrastructure, and advanced nuclear power technologies; developing new electric grid and transmission infrastructure and empowering communities historically disadvantaged from past and present energy sector operations. This forum seeks to explore these issues from both energy and environmental perspectives, offering a high-level look at grid fundamentals before digging into the key challenges posed by this energy transition: how to coordinate between new and existing stakeholders, balance environmental goals against technological limitations, secure the grid against natural and cyber threats, and better engage with and serve the interests of end consumers.
- ELSN Law Student Happy Hour | November 10, 2022 | Virtual
