It takes a lot to plan and execute UT’s largest day of service, and The Project is always looking for new people that are dedicated to service and connecting with communities in Austin! If you’re interested in joining the Project 2023, we are currently recruiting Team Leads and general volunteers! If you’re looking for a year round opportunity, consider joining the Community Engagement Collective student group.
1. Become a Team Lead!
Team leads are the ones who lead the volunteers on the day of the Project! Each team lead will be assigned a certain position that will assist in executing the Project day! This is a great way to be more involved in The Project! Team Leads are required to attend all training sessions before the Project date.
APPLY HERE (applications will be accepted until Feb 5th!).
Training Schedule
- Team Lead Orientation: November 15, 2022 (Tuesday)
- Three Team Lead Trainings: Jan 10th, Jan 24th, Feb 7th (All Tuesdays!)
- Work Day: February 4th, 2023 (Saturday)

2. Join us as a General Volunteer!
The volunteers are the heart and soul of the Project! The Project day this year is on February 25th, 2023, and we want it to be the best yet! We offer both a morning and afternoon shift at multiple locations for volunteers to participate in! You can even sign up as a group with your organization or your friends (which always makes the Project day more enjoyable!)
SIGN UP HERE THROUGH GIVE PULSE and be on the lookout for our GroupMe (we’ll add you!)
3. Join the Community Engagement Collective
The Community Engagement Collective, or ‘The Collective’ for short, is the student organization that organizes The Project, Alternative Breaks, and other community partnerships and events. Meetings are Mondays from 5:30-7:30pm in the SSB. Learn more HERE.
