NYU Silver School assistant professor Lailea Noel is the first-ever social worker to be awarded a Donald D. Harrington Faculty Fellowship by The University of Texas at Austin. This fellowship is awarded annually to as many as five early career faculty members, who take a leave from their home institutes and serve as visiting members of the UT Austin faculty for the duration of the fellowship.
Noel will join the Steve Hicks School of Social Work and the LIVEStrong Cancer Institutes, where she will continue to pursue community-based participatory research on reducing barriers to cancer treatment.
