Operation Naloxone is the recipient of the 2018 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Award for Courageous Service.
Operation Naloxone is a partnership among the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, the College of Pharmacy and the Texas Overdose Naloxone Initiative. The award is in recognition of its efforts to obtain and distribute the life-saving overdose response drug Naloxone to people affected by Hurricane Harvey. Social work professor Lori Holleran-Steiker is Operation Naloxone’s co-director.
