About 30% of children referred to child protective services each year in the United States experience recurring maltreatment. And yet, few studies have examined services to prevent recurrences of maltreatment among reunified children.
Using data from a national survey, alumna Catherine LaBrenz and professors Monica Faulkner and Rowena Fong investigated types of services that decreased recurrences of child maltreatment post-reunification. Results were published in the Journal of Public Child Welfare.
