We had the chance to meet Monday, 9/12, and hold our first workshop of the semester.
We learned how to:
- Download Python
- Access it
- Download packages
- Do a print statement
- Ask good questions
- Navigate around their files
We also had the opportunity to talk about some of the applications of Python for digital humanities research.
In the Box, you can find a document with some other Python resources. Generally, the best way to learn Python is to find a project you are interested in and learn what you need to learn to be able to complete it.

Our next meeting is Monday, September 26 at 6PM. We will be meeting on the first floor of the PCL so we can get a tour of the future home of the digital scholars’ lab! Snacks will be provided. We hope to see you there!
