We held a workshop on the basics of natural language processing, using the Natural Language Toolkit (nltk) Python library. Some topics we went over are importing the nltk library, using its functions to look over texts of our choosing, and finding the overall sentiment of those texts.
Make sure to check out our Box for a recording of the session! Here is a good place to start learning about the library as well. It seems complicated at first, but it’s not too bad to pick up on. Feel free to analyze your own text by using the code on the GitHub, and add your findings to the Google Sheet.
Keep an eye out for our next meeting by checking our calendar!
