Steven Ortega

Steven Ortega is an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin. He is deeply passionate about Space, R&D, and Mechatronics, and is currently involved in various research projects that integrate these fields.
In a collaborative project between the Urban Information Lab and the Human Centered Robotics Lab, Steven is contributing to the development of “Bumpy Bot,” an advanced robotics system. Under the guidance of Dr. Luis Sentis, his work has included enhancing Lidar placement, designing electrical enclosures, and developing ROS Gazebo Simulations for the robot. His multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving has proved beneficial in pushing the boundaries of what robotics can achieve in an urban setting.
