Mission
The mission of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists University of Texas at Austin Collegiate Chapter is to provide resources to help fight the stigma against substance use disorders, mental health conditions, co-occurring disorders, and recovery. It was designed by conscientious students, faculty, and staff in the College of Pharmacy. AAPP UT Austin Collegiate Chapter’s students, faculty, and staff members are able to refer others to the appropriate University and Austin resources that best address their particular needs.

We award stipends on an application basis for our members to attend the following:
- American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) Annual Meeting
- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Texas Annual Conference
- Hazelden Betty Ford Summer Institute for Medical Students (SIMS)
Participate in our unique initiatives:
- Operation Naloxone: PharmD student collaboration with SHIFT to provide opioid overdose education and naloxone distribution on UT campus
- Austin Clubhouse: provide direct-contact workshop experiences to people living with serious mental illness; this is also a great opportunity for IPPE hours!
- Wellness Workshops: “for students, by students” – receive peer support and education on topics promoting professional and personal growth
