Katie Miller is a third-year MFA candidate in Costume Design at the University of Texas at Austin (anticipated graduation Spring 2023). She earned her BFA in Theatre (Performing Arts Design Program, costume design emphasis) with an English Literature minor from the University of Utah in 2012. Katie has designed costumes for a variety of stage productions and independent films, and received a nomination for Best Costume Design at the 2015 Milan International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema for her work on the short film, Moments of Clarity (Blooming Studios). Recent UT credits include costume design for The Tales of Hoffmann (2023), Murky as Hell (2022), The Horizon and the Offing (a piece in Fall for Dance 2022), Radiance (2021), Memory Box (2021), and costume coordinator for (Re)Current Unrest (2020). Katie is particularly interested in incorporating sculptural garments and fantastical styles into her design practice.
