The University of Texas Opioid Response Consortium

UTORC Mission Statement

The University of Texas Opioid Response Consortium’s (UTORC) mission is to convene and catalyze experts in opioid-related research, education, and clinical practice across campus. We seek to develop and disseminate impactful community-focused solutions to enhance prevention, treatment, and harm reduction efforts in Texas.

Action Goals

The University of Texas Opioid Response Consortium has identified the following action goals as our primary areas of focus:

  1. Overdose Prevention
  2. Implementing evidence-based practice for OUD treatment and recovery
  3. Stigma reduction

In 2019, The University of Texas at Austin submitted a commitment statement to join the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic as a network organization.
