Language Arts: Readings in the Galleries

Three Austin-based writers—Zaccaria Fulton, Levis Keltner, and Jesús I. Valles—read selections from original works that respond to installations in the VAC galleries. Beer, wine, and snacks will be served.

Organized by Taylor Bradley, PhD candidate in Art History and 2018-19 Visual Arts Center Curatorial Fellow.


About the Writers

Zaccaria Fulton was born in Fauquier County, Virginia, and wandered around a bit before settling in Austin, Texas. His writing has appeared in Best American Experimental Writing, Conduit, The Gettysburg Review, and elsewhere.

Levis Keltner is the editor-in-chief at Newfound and author of the novel Into That Good Night. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in AnomalyEntropy Magazine, and Bull: Men’s Fiction. He has an MFA from Texas State University where he taught writing for a decade.

 Jesús I. Valles is a queer Mexican immigrant, educator, storyteller, and performer based in Austin, Texas, originally from Cd. Juarez, México. Their work has been published in The Shade Journal, The Texas Review, The New Republic, Palabritas, The Acentos Review, Quarterly West, and The Mississippi Review.
