Feedback from Texas teacher participants in the 2017-18 school year
“I am the only CS teacher in my district, so these workshops are essential networking activities for me. I need to talk with other teachers to see how they are assessing the students and where they are experiencing difficulties. I also enjoy having the time to just focus on CS Principles for several hours. At school I usually have just minutes a day because I teach 4 different courses.”
“It’s always encouraging to come, see the team, and find out we are all facing similar situations. I love the feedback.”
Professional Learning for Middle and High School Teachers
Designed around courses Computer Science Discoveries and Computer Science Principles, the Code.org 2018 Professional Learning Program for middle and high school teachers begins with a five-day, in-person summer workshop, WeTeach_TEX Con, followed by four additional one-day workshops throughout the year. You don’t need any prior computer science experience to get started, but if you are unsure which program is right for you, we offer some program recommendations to help you determine the best fit for your teaching situation.
The priority application period closes on March 30th, and we’ll review applications on a rolling basis. We look forward to reviewing your application!
WeTeach_TEX Con

There will also be four follow-up quarterly workshops in the Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio areas in the 2018-19 school year. Additional regions might be added based on teacher demand.
