About BWiC Gaming Workshop
The BWiC (Black Women in Computing) Gaming Workshop is a one-day game development workshop. Participants will develop their own fully-functional, interactive video games. The purpose of this workshop is to increase students’ interest in computer science and programming, to promote education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and to support historically under-served and underrepresented students with limited opportunities or access to resources in these areas. This workshop is geared toward students with no prior experience in computer science or programming. The BWiC Gaming Workshop is being offered free of charge to students.
The Parent/Guardian and student must complete and submit the student application form. If selected to participate, students must be accompanied to the workshop by the Parent/Guardian indicated on the application (parents please bring state issued identification). Parental authorization is required (via signature) at registration prior to student participation. The student will not be allowed to participate without it.
Volunteer opportunities available at both workshop locations!
