The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district.
Students code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. This year’s contest begins on June 4, 2018.
Decisions by State Board of Education expand opportunities for Texas students who take CS courses
Public policy is made at many levels. The Texas State Board of Education reviews and adopts curriculum standards and graduation requirements which places them in a prime position to open up opportunities for students to take computer science related courses. The SBOE met on April 11-13, 2018 and made several decisions that will have this affect.
