In January the Texas Governor’s Office announced a partnership with the SANS Institute with the purpose of increasing the number of young women interested in the growing field of cybersecurity. The partnership’s is using the on a training program built on the Girls Go CyberStart online game to reach female students in Texas high schools. The free online game helps students learn about cybersecurity, while building interest and uncovering the hidden computer security talents of participants.

WeTeach_CS is now accepting nominations for the 2018 WeTeach_CS Change Maker Awards and applications for the 2018 WeTeach_CS Mini-Grants. Both the awards and grants will be announced during the 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit, being held from June 18-20 in Georgetown, Texas. This year’s awards are being sponsored by Oracle Academy and Texas Instruments. All nominations and applications are due by Friday, April 20, 2018
