If you’re planning to take the TExES CS 8-12 certification exam during the May Testing Window (May 2-5, 2018) and want to participate in the Certification Incentive Program (CIP), you must have your application submitted no later than Monday, April 30th at 5pm.
May (5/2/18 – 5/5/18) Testing Window Deadlines:
- CIP Application/Documentation due: 4/30/18, 5pm
- TExES Test Registration deadline: 4/30/18
- Proof of CS Certification due: 6/8/18, 5pm

If you’re not ready to take the May CS certification exam, don’t worry, you still have time to get prepared, get certified and get your stipend. There are three more certification testing windows scheduled from June through August of 2018 and WeTeach_CS is helping you prepare by hosting four Certification Prep Face-2-Face workshops around the state, along with it’s always in session online course, Foundations of Computer Science for Teachers.
Get prepared online
Foundations of Computer Science for Teachers ($199) is a self-paced course is designed to prepare teachers to take the TExES 241 Grades 8-12 Computer Science certification exam. Course materials provide extensive detailed instruction, examples and practice on everything from introductory programming topics such as variables, functions, loops and logical expressions to more advanced topics such as data structures, recursion, and object oriented programming. Enrollment includes unit quizzes and a comprehensive final, which mimics the actual 100 question CS certification exam. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive 40 CPE credit hours from The University of Texas at Austin. Enroll Today!
Get prepared face-2-face
WeTeach_CS Certification Prep ($200) will provide an overview of the educator competencies required of all teachers to become certified in Grades 8-12 Computer Science. This certification is necessary to teach courses such as Computer Science I, II or III, Fundamentals of Computer Science, or AP Computer Science A. Course instructors will address several competencies in depth and link attendees to additional resources that will help to prepare them to take the TExES 241 CS 8-12 Certification Test.

WeTeach_CS is making that decision a whole lot easier!
Thanks to the support of the Texas Education Agency (TEA), WeTeach_CS is offering the Certification Incentive Program (CIP) through August of 2018! This means current Texas teachers planning to take the TExES CS 8-12 Certification Test from now through the August 2018 testing window may be eligible for the Certification Incentive Program (CIP), which offers a $1000 stipend to accepted teachers who obtain their CS certification.
For complete information about deadlines and requirements, please read and follow all steps of the CIP Checklist. Texas teachers must meet eligibility requirements and be accepted to the program prior to testing to qualify for the $1,000 stipend.
