“Only 2% of Texas High School graduates take a computer science course and we know that in 2020 there will be a million more computing jobs than we have students to fill.”
-Dr. Carol Fletcher
Deputy Director

WeTeach_CS, a program of the Center for STEM Education at The University of Texas at Austin, seeks to address this looming tech skills deficit by working to increase the number of certified CS teachers in Texas and by providing CS teachers with ongoing professional development, resources, and support.
This video, produced during the inaugural WeTeach_CS Summit, features teachers, advocates, and representatives from Oracle Academy, AT&T, Microsoft, and Google discussing the importance of CS education and how WeTeach_CS is stepping up to answer the call of the CS for All initiative.
