Thanks to the support of the Texas Education Agency (TEA), WeTeach_CS is offering a $1,000 stipend, through the Certification Incentive Program (CIP), to currently certified Texas educators who add a CS certification to their resume. This means current Texas teachers may be eligible to receive a $1000 stipend upon achieving CS certification. For complete information about deadlines and requirements, please read and follow all steps of the CIP Checklist. Texas teachers must meet certain eligibility requirements and be accepted into the program prior to testing to qualify for the $1,000 stipend.

July (7/11/18 – 7/14/18) Testing Window Deadlines:
- CIP Application/Documentation due: 7/9/18, 5pm
- TExES Test Registration deadline: 7/9/18
- Proof of CS Certification due: 8/17/18, 5pm
August (8/15/18 – 8/18/18) Testing Window Deadlines:
- CIP Application/Documentation due: 8/13/18, 5pm
- TExES Test Registration deadline: 8/13/18
- Proof of CS Certification due: 9/21/18, 5pm
WeTeach_CS Certification Prep Face-2-Face
Give John Owen and the WeTeach_CS Team two days and they’ll tell you what you’ll need to know to pass the TExES 241 CS 8-12 certification exam during this 2-day workshop style prep. July 23-27 – Austin
WeTeach_Java is a week-long intensive workshop designed to give new and experienced teachers the tools they need to teach Java in high school. Based on the WeTeach_CS for HS curriculum and aligned to the CS1 TEKS, WeTeach_Java is designed to help teachers take their students beyond the basics of block and scripting languages and into the world of limitless opportunities that working in an industry standard programming language allows. Starting with the basics and adding topics as they are mastered, this course will prepare students to move beyond their first-year experience towards goals such as the College Board AP CS A exam and their post-high school education plans.
