We were thrilled to have CAC Director, Rachel Décoste join us for the 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit and take time to discuss the Congressional App Challenge with the Texas CS teachers in attendaance. Now it’s time for Texas CS teachers to step up and make sure your students get registered for the contest! The registration deadline is Monday, September 10th and apps must be submitted by October 15th. CAC rules are fairly simple when it comes to how students can participate and what they can submit, so there’s definitely still time to get involved with this year’s CAC!
STUDENTS CAN USE ANY PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE (example: C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, “block code,” etc.) and ANY PLATFORM (PC, web, tablet, robot, mobile, etc.). There are NO LIMITS on application theme or topic!
What is the Congressional App Challenge?
The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district. Students code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.
