Hosted by the Texas Girls Collaborative Project, led by the Women in Engineering Program at The University of Texas at Austin, and the Texas Advanced Computing Center at The University of Texas at Austin in collaboration with special guest, LEGO® Education.
Join TXGCP for an engaging, hands-on STEM Symposium focused on bringing computational thinking, coding and STEM to life in elementary and middle school classrooms and programs. Discover ways that you can empower students to develop analytical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem solving skills, while preparing them for the STEM and technology-focused jobs of tomorrow.
What: Hands-on workshops that will cover creative ways to engage students in computational thinking, robotics, science, technology, engineering and math.
Who: Open to elementary and middle school educators, administrators and program providers.
Cost: Cost is $30 and includes parking validation, breakfast and lunch. Limited scholarships available.

Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit

Join the Texas Girls Collaborative Project for our first Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit designed to share best practices, connect organizations and individuals, and showcase outstanding efforts to increase the number of girls in STEM and support the retention of women in STEM careers. STEM professionals and all who are engaged in education, outreach, recruitment, and/or retention of women and girls in STEM are invited to join in.
Call for Breakout Session Presenters: Breakout session proposals will be accepted through October 30. Breakout sessions will be 50 minutes. Anticipated tracks include male advocacy/allies, volunteering and mentoring, pre-K / elementary school engagement, middle school engagement, high school engagement, college engagement, workforce engagement / corporate women in STEM/tech affinity groups. Submit your proposal online by October 30.
Call for Meet-up Hosts: Meet-up Host proposals will be accepted through October 30. Meet-ups will take place in various rooms over lunch. Hosts will facilitate networking and conversations focused on the meet-up theme or target audience. Submit your proposal online by October 30.
Cost: Cost is $75 and includes parking validation, breakfast and lunch.
