In May, Workday “See the System” demos will shift to focus on security roles and what security roles can see and do in the system along with a demo on routing which will break down the basic Workday business processes. Please note that the May 29 demo on Basic Business Process Breakdown has been moved to May 15.
Onboarding new hires will be tracked in Workday and both the manager and the employee will use Workday to track progress. The new hire will have an onboarding dashboard with onboarding to-do’s and helpful messages. Watch a previously recorded “See the System” demo from 4/13.
This brief provides a deeper look into Workday’s onboarding dashboard and how progress will be tracked in Workday and includes an example of a report on onboarding progress.
The November 2018 Workday implementation will be for Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll only. Only financial processes related to payroll will be impacted. Limited training to help campus financial managers locate information needed to effectively manage DEFINE financials relative to compensation and payment processes in Workday will be provided. Prior to a Workday Financial implementation, the university will undergo a business process improvement project. Workday Training will begin in August 2018. Training will be provided in a mix of in-classroom, instructor-led training and online, self-help materials. All materials associated with training will be available on the Workday website. The training individuals should attend will be determined by their Workday security role. Each college, school, and unit is currently engaged in mapping roles and will begin communicating to their units about roles by this summer.
