Schedule for Open Labs, Security Partner Labs, Costing Sessions, and Virtual Labs
To assist users after go live, the Workday Program has scheduled a series of labs where users can bring their transactions to work through with subject matter experts. Open and Virtual Labs are open to anyone with a formal HR, Academic, Finance, or Security Role in Workday. Costing Sessions are open to Cost Center Managers and require registration through UTLearn. Security Partner Labs are open to Security Partners and require registration through UTLearn.
Visit the Workday Events and Schedule page for event postings that you can download to your iCal or Google Calendar. All labs are viewable from the Workday Calendar on this page. Descriptions of the labs, who can attend, and how to register is also available on this page.
Oct 31 – Last Day to Submit Critical Transactions
Tomorrow, Oct. 31, is the last day to submit a critical transaction. Visit the Critical Transactions web page for guidance. All critical transactions must be submitted to workday@austin.utexas.edu before noon on Oct. 31.

Emergency Check Process
During the period of Oct. 24 through Nov. 16, Payroll Services will continue to issue emergency checks; however, it will only be for amounts related to primary pay whereby the employee is in a true financial hardship due to the missed pay and there are no other payment alternatives.

Expanded Guidance for Retro Transactions
Following the final legacy payroll on 10/31/2018, any transactions effective dated prior to 11/1/2018 will be considered retro. Following is the general guidance for these transactions. See the Retro Matrix for more details.
- Retro cost transfers (costing allocation changes) will must be submitted using the Retro Cost Transfer worksheet (this is currently in draft form).
- Retro time entry/adjustments must be submitted using the Time Entry/Adjustment worksheet.
- All other retro transactions can be entered directly into Workday.
Keep in mind that any transaction entered into Workday with an effective date prior to 11/1/2018 must be in a successfully completed status at least five business days prior to the payroll deadline in order to be paid/take effect on that payroll.
