REMINDER: Workday Labs Start on Nov. 9
Visit the Events & Schedule page for a full list of labs, descriptions of labs, and to see the lab schedule on the cut over calendar. Some labs require registration through UTLearn and others are open to walk-ins. Labs will cover the following topics: costing, security, academics, student employment, non-tenure track employment, and general topics. Labs are designed for core users with Workday roles to bring their work and perform their transactions with the assistance of a subject matter expert. Virtual labs will be held on Fridays and will cover emerging issues.

UTLearn will be down November 6 to November 9 – to register for a lab during this window, please e-mail WorkdayTraining@austin.utexas.edu with the link of the event you wish to attend.
Annual Fringes Encumbered as Part of Cut Over to Workday
As part of the cut over to Workday, fringes were encumbered as part of the annual encumbrance process that normally occurs in October but was delayed due to the Workday cutover. This was an expected part of the cutover to the Workday system and has no impact on payroll. More details are provided on the Payroll Website.
This was addressed in the Workday financials training and your Chief Business Officer has been briefed on this process. For questions on how to handle overdrafts in your unit, first contact your Chief Business Officer to determine the appropriate course of action should any be required. Going forward, Departmental Accounting Contacts will continue to receive notifications of overdrafts on accounts.
If you and your Chief Business Officer have remaining questions, please contact: oa.far@austin.utexas.edu.
