Businesses Processes Must be Final Approved by 5 PM Today to Meet Monthly Payroll Deadline
Today at 5 PM is the deadline for business processes to be final approved (in a successfully complete status in Workday) in order to meet the monthly payroll deadline for salaried employees. This only applies to business processes that impact monthly payroll. In order to determine whether a business process is in a successfully completed status, reference the Check the Status of a Business Process Workday Instructional Guide.

New Best Practice: Send New Employees to the ID Center the Next Business Day After Completing the Hire
The timing of the integration between Workday and the systems that allow for the creation of ID cards is taking longer in our current state than in legacy. The new best practice should be to send new employees to the ID Center the business day after the Hire is complete. This will ensure your new employees can get their ID card on their first visit.
Effective Dates of One-Time Payments must be within the Pay Period Dates
In order to pay out a one-time payment on a certain pay date, the effective date of the one-time payment must be within the pay period. For example, if you intend to pay a monthly employee on 12/3, then the effective date for the one-time payment must be between 11/1-11/30.
Training Refresher: How to Change Workday Alerts and Notifications Settings
If you would like change your settings for alerts and notifications in Workday, you can follow the instructions in the Workday Instructional Guide – Edit Account Preferences.
Absence Partners: Once A Transfer is Complete, You Can No Longer Initiate Payouts
Once the transfer of an employee has reached final approval and the effective date of the transfer has been reached, the Absence Partner from the previous department can no longer initiate payouts (handled through the Absence Request business process) to the employee. The Absence Partner should initiate payout before the transfer or coordinate with the Absence Partner of the new department to initiate payment.
Reminder: Check out the Reports List and Dashboard List on the Reporting Page
On the Workday Reporting page, you can view a list of campus reports and a list of Workday dashboards, which includes which Security roles can view each dashboard. Dashboards can be added to your Workday homepage and have links to reports.
